Rachel – Violin teacher

Rachel is a dedicated violin and piano tutor with 17 years of teaching experience. She began playing the violin at age five and the piano at age seven and earned a Bachelor of Music Performance with honours from the Royal Northern College of Music. In addition to her classical training, Rachel has worked in the popular music industry, collaborating with Nigel Kennedy on his album The Four Elements. Her own music project, released by the Polish label Kayax, earned a nomination for Best Newcomer at the prestigious Polish Fryderyk Awards.

Since her late teens, Rachel has gained extensive teaching experience, working privately and in various schools across the UK, as well as Westminster University. Most recently, she taught at The British International School in Warsaw, Poland, where she built a large student base, ran string ensembles, quartets, trios, and duos and eventually managed the entire instrumental department. In this role, she coordinated 15 tutors and organised recitals, masterclasses and international trips. During this time, the school became the exam centre for both RSL and ABRSM in Warsaw. Rachel also has extensive experience with ABRSM, training other staff on the syllabus and effective teaching methods.

Rachel’s teaching approach is unique in that it combines musical education with a focus on mindset and emotional well-being. She is committed to connecting with her students on a deeper level, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes healthy, confident and motivated individuals. This holistic method not only enhances her students’ musical abilities but also supports their overall emotional well-being. With over 200 students taught and more than 150 exams submitted, Rachel has maintained a 100% pass rate, with many students consistently achieving distinction level.
