Erika Schilsky studied oboe and piano at the Royal College of Music. After graduating with First Class Honours, she continued post-graduate studies in Germany with a German Academic Exchange Service Scholarship. She lived in Germany and Portugal for eight years, during which time she played with various orchestras, taught both instruments, and taught English as a foreign language.
Brighton-based, she has taught oboe, piano, theory and chamber music at Roedean, Brighton Girls School GDST and has worked for East Sussex Music Service. She has also directed and accompanied choirs, including South Downs Singers, Seaford and Ovingdean Choral Societies.
Erika now teaches English as a Foreign Language in Hove, and is Organist/Pianist at St. John the Evangelist, Preston, Brighton, where she was recently licensed as Authorised Lay Minister in Worship and Liturgy.
