Heather – Piano, singing and violin teacher

Heather is a pianist, violinist, and singer-songwriter based in Brighton. With Grade 8 in both Piano and Violin, and a Bachelor’s in Music from Durham University, Heather has a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Playing for over twenty years, Heather has played everything from classical to experimental, orchestral, choral, musical theatre, pop, and indie. Heather has a deep love for contemporary music, and she writes and performs her own songs. She is more than happy to teach classical or modern styles—or both!—and will tailor lessons to suit her students’ interests and goals.

In her teaching career, Heather has tutored A-level music students, and taught music in a primary school through a volunteer project she helped run. She has also been through the musical exam experience numerous times—so she knows how to best prepare you for your grades!

As a teacher, Heather is patient, encouraging, and fun! Above all, she believes music is a fantastic way to express your emotions, passion, and creativity—and fostering this, along with technique and consistent practice, will grow you into a great musician.

Heather is passionate about tuning into each student’s individual strengths and needs, to make every lesson a rewarding, productive part of their musical journey.
