Joanna is a Piano and music teacher with over 15 years experience of teaching children and adults of all abilities and ages including those with Special Educational Needs. She believes strongly that piano playing and music in general should be accessible to everyone and is a powerful means of expression and therapy.
Joanna is a classically trained pianist, achieving her Grade 8 whilst also studying for her BA (Hons) Music degree. She also took extra Jazz piano lessons during this time, performed in the Jazz Orchestra and accompanied Jazz vocalists. Her other passion for composition then led her to do an MA in Contemporary/Film and Media Composition at Sussex University during which her works were performed at local festivals and events. She continues to compose and has been part of a number of musical/ mixed media collaborations including a Barcelona-based band named Hidden Park.
Joanna also has a Music PGCE and loves her career as an educator. She teaches the piano to those who are wishing to just learn and play for their own enjoyment or those who wish to prepare for a performance or a grade exam. All her students have a 100% Pass rate. She also offers composition and theory tuition.
